چکیده

Abstract This paper investigates the stress transferring mechanism of a pressure tunnel strengthened with CFRP. A simplified mechanical model internal water transfer from CFRP to lining concrete is established, and key parameters that influence between are identified. solid-spring-solid three-dimensional finite element established. Using numerical model, influences above on ratios borne by investigated. Based results, reinforcement scheme Yellow River Crossing Tunnel studied optimized as case study. reveals elastic modulus thickness two most important factors affect CFRP, increasing can decrease ratio improve state concrete.

Behavior Comparison of Uniaxial Cylindrical Columns Strengthened with CFRP

In recent years application of CFRP sheets in the strengthening of the concrete circular column has increased numerously. Knowing the exact behavior of concrete cylindrical columns confined with CFRP is of the first order of importance. ISIS Code of Canada has given relations for strength increase of circular columns confined with CFRP sheets, these relations are defined for a specified range o...

Bond Behavior of Cfrp Strengthened Steel Structures

Recent research has focused on rehabilhation and strengthening of steel structures and bridges using fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) materials. The bond behavior of FRP materials to steel structures is quite different from lhat of concrete structures. Preliminary test results showed the occurrence of very high bond stresses for most strengthening applications due to the amount of strengthening r...

Ultimate Unbonded Tendon Stress in CFRP Strengthened Post-Tensioned Indeterminate I-Beams Cast with HSCs

Based on the bending experiment for two-span continuous post-tension beams with unbounded tendons and externally applied CFRP sheets, the analysis of the stress increment of unbonded tendons is monitored in the loading process. Since self-compacting concrete (SCC) is a suitable innovation,, understanding the implementation of this type of concrete on the ultimate unbonded tendon stress is criti...

Behavior of steel monopoles strengthened with high-modulus CFRP materials

This paper introduces a strengthening technique for steel monopole towers using high-modulus carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) materials. The technique is based on a theoretical and analytical investigation including testing large scale steel monopole towers strengthened with different CFRP materials and connection details. Based on the research findings, design aspects and installation pr...

Pre-Cracked Concrete Shear Strengthened with External CFRP Strips

In reinforced concrete design, there are situations where transfer of shear across a specific plane needs to be considered. Examples of such situation include corbels, bearing shoes, ledger beam bearing, and a host of connection between precast concrete elements. In this study, the shear transfer behavior of reinforced concrete is investigated experimentally by conducting test on 6 precracked p...
